What a baby need

Welcome to reality! A baby will need things, it is true and when to get them changes from person to person. In my case, I’ll create a baby wish list around week 28 (we are at week 20 now) and share it with friends and family and around week 36, whatever is left we will buy it ourselves.

Without further ado, here is the list:

Clothing:

  • Vests (size newborn, 3m, 6m, 9m)
  • Long sleeve vests, preferably with zippers (at least three)
  • Newborn outfits (at least four)
  • Socks
  • Bibs (at least 2)
  • Muslins (at least 2)

Baby room needs:

  • Baby Monitor
  • Cot sheets (at least 2)
  • Thin blanket (at least 2)
  • Winter blanket
  • Hand towels to give baby sponge baths first weeks.
  • Baby towel
  • Changing mat
  • Changing mat protector
  • Safety Kid with thermometer
  • Shower soap and cream (Aveno is a great brand)

Feeding:

  • Milk extractor, if you are planning to breastfeed: I am going for a manual pump initially since I am not sure if I am going to be able to breastfeed. Once I start pumping, which according to our Breastfeeding Expert should be after week 6, I’ll see how it goes and if it is worth it to invest in a expensive one, like the Elvie Pump.
  • Breast Milk storage bags
  • 3 4oz bibs and 3 9oz bibs (I went for the brand Playtex and with 2 of each is more than enough!)

Going out:

  • SkipHop Changing Mat
  • Car Seat
  • Pram
  • Bagpack or baby bag

Miscellaneous:

  • Baby Gym
  • Swing
